Privacy policy
PaperDeed collects the minimum needed to build, save and sell a document. This page explains each piece in plain language.
Last updated October 20, 2026
What you give us
When you build a document, we store the answers you type so the document can be reopened, edited and downloaded. That includes names, addresses, property or vehicle details, dates and amounts. Please do not enter a Social Security number, a bank account number or other information the form does not ask for.
When you create an account, we store your email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive the email address and a Google account identifier. We do not receive your Google password.
What we collect automatically
Our server sets an httpOnly session cookie so you stay signed in. It contains a random token, not your email or document answers. The database stores only a hash of that token. We also keep short-lived rate-limit records to stop sign-in email abuse.
On the live site, we may use Google Analytics 4 to count page views, builder starts and purchases. It is configured to load only on the indexable production site. Events never include your name, email, address, document text or payment details. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell personal information.
Who processes it
We use service providers for specific jobs: Firebase Realtime Database for storage, Resend for sign-in and receipt email, Polar for payment processing and tax handling, and our hosting provider for serving the site. Each provider processes only what its job requires.
We do not see or store your full card number. Polar handles the payment page and the card data. We receive the product, the amount, the order identifier and the email tied to the purchase.
How long we keep it
Saved documents stay in your account until you delete them or ask us to close the account. Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. Sign-in codes expire in 15 minutes. Sessions expire after 90 days of inactivity.
Your choices
You can edit or delete any saved document from your account page. You can ask us to delete your account and its documents by emailing support@paperdeed.com. We may keep a purchase record where the law requires it, but we will remove the document contents.
If you are in a state with a consumer privacy law, you may have additional rights to access, correct or delete personal information. Email us and we will respond as the law requires. We do not discriminate against people who exercise those rights.
Children and other countries
The service is for adults in the United States. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. The site is not designed for visitors in the European Union or the United Kingdom, and we do not run a consent banner for those regions.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, we will update this page and the date at the top. Questions go to support@paperdeed.com. PaperDeed is not a law firm and cannot advise you on a privacy dispute.
